Introduction
Shorne Woods Country Park has everything you need for a day out with your dog. With 292 acres of woodland, wetlands and meadows and six waymarked trails to choose from there is lots to explore.
Dogs need to be kept on lead in certain areas which includes where seasonal cattle are grazing and the meadows next to the cafe. There is however a pond where dog swimming is allowed and is signposted from the picnic area.
Easy parking (charges apply), cafe and toilets.

Walk Details
Shorne Woods Country Park has six waymarked trails which are all well sign posted and easy to navigate. The route shown above is the 3.2km Red Route which gives you an idea of the elevation and distance. You can also download and follow the route on the AllTrails App or download the gpx file and use in a map app of your choice.

How to use the AllTrails map
Click the walk title in the top right of the above window to open the route on the AllTrails website or the mobile app. You can then create a free account which will then allow you to follow the route as you walk on your mobile. If you would rather not sign up to AllTrails free account and would like to use another mapping app (such as OS Maps, Outdooractive or Komoot etc) on your phone then you can download the GPX file below and import this into your desired app inorder to follow the trail.

Walk Information
- Moderate - A walk with some hilly sections and some uneven pathways
- Six circular waymarked trails that range from a 1 Km Easy Access Trail to the 10Km Darnley Trail
- Depends on your chosen trail and pace.
- Mixture of surfaced pathways on the Orange and purple trails with all others on unsurfaced footpaths through woodland so can be very muddy during the winter and wet weather.
- 2.5 Km easy access pathway waymarked with orange and orange chequered arrows. More details can be found here.
- No Stiles but some kissing gates.
- Dogs allowed off lead.
- Dog bins available
- Pay and display or phone app parking available in the large carpark.
- Public toilets available next to the cafe.
- Cafe available next to the main car park but dogs only allowed in the outside seating area.
