Introduction
Greatstone Beach, Kent
Greatstone Beach in Kent is a large sandy beach on the Romney Marsh coast, popular with walkers and dog owners. The beach has a large pay-and-display car park, public toilets and several places to eat nearby.
Dogs on Greatsone Beach:
Dogs are now welcome on Greatstone Beach all year round. The previous seasonal restrictions were removed under Folkestone & Hythe District Council's 2025 Dog Control PSPO and took effect from 1st August 2025.
As always, please check local signage for the latest information when visiting as restrictions can change.

For reference the previous seasonal beach restrictions applied from 1st May to 30th September in the following areas:

- 114 The Parade to No.172 The Parade

29 March 2026 at 18:34Lovely stretch of beach. Cute beach huts in pastel colours looking out onto the sea. We stopped off at Hub on the Beach. Had a large breakfast (which was definitely large) with good sausages and bacon, my husband had a vegetarian breakfast, would definitely recommend and a good price too. Very popular cafe and dog friendly. Well I definitely used my Out With the Dog app on our holiday in Dungeness lol. Such a brilliant website, I was able to find the locations easily, places to park and on top of that cafes to visit that are all dog friendly, taking the stress out of trying to find all these things on my own. Looking forward to our next adventure through OWTD.
