Medway Council owns and maintains Capstone Country Park, which features woodland, orchards, grassland, and meadows across 114 hectares of former farmland on the North Downs.
Local dog owners and walkers frequent the park, making it a great spot for dogs to socialize and run. With two pay and display car parks, information boards, signposted walks, a café, toilets, and a large children’s playground, it's perfect for both short and long walks.
The route below covers most of Capstone Country Park, but there are plenty of other paths and shortcuts allowing you to adjust the walk to your needs and schedule.
Use the road beside the ski center to reach the top car park, which only offers parking. For full amenities, use the bottom car park further along Capstone Road, where everything is located around the lake. If you prefer the scenic top car park then you can easily walk to the main facilities by the lake.

Large Country Park with lots of pathways to explore. It is a popular dog walking location but it never feels crowded. If you have a nervous or reactive dog its easy to divert away from other dogs if you stay in the main meadows. Overall our boys gave it the paws up. Only negative is they now charge £2.50 a day to park.
