Introduction
Broomhill Park is a medium sized park and forms part of the North Downs ridge of chalk. In Roman times and up to the mid 20th Century the site was a chalk quarry and also used as a strategic view point in battles. Six windmills were also once onsite and more recently a German Messerschmitt plane crashed on the hill during the second world war.
Today the park is a peaceful place to walk and explore with your dog with great views over the Medway and with surfaced pathways all round although some are steep and incorporate steps.
In 2018 the park was extended with the addition of the Old Orchard woodland which is cared for by “Friends of Broomhill” and has marked trails for you to enjoy. A map of the woods can be found by scanning the QR code at the entrance to the woods.

Broomhill Park is a local park with playing field, childrens play area and great views across Medway. A great place for a quick local walk.

- Easy - A fairly easy and flatish walk
- Grassed playing fields with surfaced footpaths but some are steep and have steps.
- Dogs allowed off lead.
- Dog bins available
- Free parking in small car park at the end of King Arthur’s Drive or in street parking in the surrounding roads.
