Introduction
Battle Great Wood spans over 450 acres with wide, accessible pathways and narrow unsurfaced trails for deeper exploration.
A free Woodland Trust car park is on Marley Lane, with the town of Battle nearby for toilets and refreshments.

The wide surfaced pathways lead out from the carpark where you can then follow our route below using the Alltrails app or by downloading the GPX file and using an app of your choice . We will be visiting again soon to make a more detailed route.

How to use the AllTrails map
Click the walk title in the top right of the above window to open the route on the AllTrails website or the mobile app. You can then create a free account which will then allow you to follow the route as you walk on your mobile. If you would rather not sign up to AllTrails free account and would like to use another mapping app (such as OS Maps, Outdooractive or Komoot etc) on your phone then you can download the GPX file below and import this into your desired app inorder to follow the trail.

Over 450 acres of woodland with wide easy to walk tracks.
Walk Information
- Easy - A fairly easy and flatish walk
- With lots of pathways to choose from you can make your walk as short or as long as you wish. Below is a circular route that follows the main surfaced pathways and gives you a 3km circular route around the woods.
- Depends on your chosen route but the circular route shown below would take around 45 minutes.
- The walk we did shown below was all on wide hard surfaced pathways and accessible to all but if you want to explore then there are also lots of single track pathways through the woodland but these may be muddy and slippery in the winter and wet weather.
- Some hard surfaced pathways do lead out from the car park but do not cover the whole of the woodland.
- No Stiles
- Dogs allowed off lead around the woodland. On lead in the car park.
- Dog bins available
- Free parking in the Woodland Trust car park.
