Introduction
Sandwich Bay is a long stretch of shingle beach backed by a golf course and private housing estate. As such gaining access to the beach by car is made a little tricky unless you are willing to pay the toll to use the private road through the estate and down to the beach. It is however possible to access the southern end of the beach by parking along Sandown Road near the Sandown Castle Community Garden and walk north along the unsurfaced pathway backing the beach.
