Oare Gunpowder Works Country Park was developed from the abandoned ruins back in 2003 with the help of Heritage Lottery Funds. A visitor centre is open at weekends and public holidays from mid March to Mid November with an exhibition on how the gunpowder was made.
Four colour coded way marked trails take you around the woodland and past the remains with information boards along the route providing details of the ruins or the area you are passing through. More details available in the pdf leaflets available from the Oare Gun Powder Works website. Link available below.
Free parking available in the small onsite car park next to the visitors centre.

We originally thought that this was a small walk (later realised the country park it was bigger than first thought) but we combined it with a walk along the creek into Faversham. We stopped at the Albion Tavern for lunch (lovely) and then walked back. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk, it was a long walk, glad we stopped for lunch! Thanks for the info
