Mote Park was originally a country estate and was converted into a public park back in 1929 with its name coming from the old English word "moot" which means a place of assembly.
Today the park has over 450 acres of grassland, woodland, a river and a 30 acre lake. Wide solid footpaths are available around the whole park with further unsurfaced footpaths to also explore.
Near the main emtrance you can find a large cafe, toilets an amazing children's play park and large pay and display car park.

A great network of surfaced and unsurfaced paths stretch around the park. The circular walk around the lake is easy to follow and even if you go a bit more off piste there are plenty of signposts to guide you back to the car park.
Our circular walk shown below gives you a rough idea of distance and it is fairly flat on surfaced paths.
Overall a great place to explore with your dog.
