Ranscombe Farm Reserve is a large 560 acre nature reserve set on the slopes of the North Downs. Made up from a mixture of chalk grassland, arable fields and woodland Ranscombe Farm is an enjoyable walk at any time of the year.
Free parking is available in the small car park off the A228 or in the car park at Bligh Way Park off Razorbill Close.
No other facilities are available here with the nearest toilets and cafe being at Shorne Country Park.

Ranscombe Farm Reserve is quite large and although there is some way marked signs it might be wise to either follow our route on the AllTrails app or at least use google maps or OS maps etc on your phone to track your location on your first visit. Ranscombe Reserve also borders Cobham Wood with the Mausoleum and there is also a footpath through the golf course that can take you over to Shorne Country Park so you can make your walk as long or as short as you want.
One thing to note if you follow our route below or similar then walking close to the high speed rail line is quite noisy and especially so when the trains rocket past so nervous dogs might not like this but otherwise Ranscombe is a great place walk and take in the wildlife.
Click the walk title in the top right of the above window to open the route on the AllTrails website or the mobile app. You can then create a free account which will then allow you to follow the route as you walk on your mobile. If you would rather not sign up to AllTrails free account and would like to use another mapping app (such as OS Maps, Outdooractive or Komoot etc) on your phone then you can download the GPX file below and import this into your desired app inorder to follow the trail.
Thank you for this post thanks to you I have discovered this as you described it hidden gem on my door step ( 0.6 miles from my home .)
We went late afternoon , I asked someone else if they locked the car park gates ( apparently not ) so parked unloaded the dogs and set off up the road from the car park further up I met 2 people out for a stroll and asked them where to go for a circular walk .
They gave me some directions and off I set with my 4 dogs .
We had a wonderful time and will most defiantly be exploring again and finding the woods as well .
Again thank you
Enjoy your walks and your dogs everyone
