Forge Common sits adjacent to the RSPB Northward Hill Nature Reserve on the edge of High Halstow village.
The common is a large open grassland area with adjacent woodland that stretches down to the Northwood Hill Nature Reserve. There are also footpaths leading out from the common across the surrounding fields that allowsi you to create a walk that is as long or as short as you would like.
Free parking available in the Old Nature Reserve Carpark off Northwood Avenue or you can park in Northwood Road and use the entrance that leads straight onto the common.

We parked up and entered Forge Common via the entrance in Northwood Road and headed straight onto the common. The grassland area is generally mud free considering the amount of recent rain but the woodland area was muddier and a bit slippery. We didnt see any way marked routes as such although there was the odd markers around it was a bit hit and miss so we just followed the path around the common then headed into the woods and down to the view point. The route we took can be seen below but aslong as you have a phone with you with google maps or AllTrails you can easily find your way back to your car.
If your looking for a quiet and peaceful dog walk with great views then give this walk a go. There is even a bench at the view point to rest those legs.
