Rye Harbour Nature Reserve was established back in 1970 and is the size of 600 football pitches and is an exceptional coastal and wetland landscape. The site includes shingle beaches, saline lagoons, saltmarsh, grassland, scrub, gravel pits and reedbads. Information boards are located all around the reserve to show you what you can see and QR codes link you to birdsong and wildlife videos. A great network of footpaths exist throughout the reserve and are wheelchair accessible along with 10 self guided trails which you can follow via a map that is available from the Discovery Centre reception.
Facilities onsite include The Discovery Centre which is open daily from 10am-4pm and includes a cafe serving hot and cold drinks, cakes and lunches and also has an outdoor seating area. There is also a gift shop, accessible toilets and dogs are welcome but must be kept on lead in certain places around the reserve so please take note of sign posts and information boards.
