One Tree Hill is set within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and was purchased by the National Trust in 1911. Around 90 percent of the trees were felled by the Great storm of October 1987 but the area has recovered well and now has a mixture of woodland and open glades with a carpet of bluebells and wild garlic in springtime and a wonderful view over the Weald of Kent from the top.
A popular spot for walking and horse riding with a great network of paths throughout the site and includes the long-distance Greensand Way, which runs all the way from Reigate in Surrey to Maidstone.

One Tree Hill isn't a particularly big woodland and there are no way marked trails that we found but you can easily make your way around and if in doubt just use an app such as AllTrails or google maps to make sure your heading in the right direction.
Click the walk title in the top right of the above window to open the route on the AllTrails website or the mobile app. You can then create a free account which will then allow you to follow the route as you walk on your mobile. If you would rather not sign up to AllTrails free account and would like to use another mapping app (such as OS Maps, Outdooractive or Komoot etc) on your phone then you can download the GPX file below and import this into your desired app inorder to follow the trail.
We love a walk with a view and One Tree Hill did not disappoint even though we visited on a cloudy day. The woodland although fairly small is well worth a walk just watch out for muddy footpaths during wet weather and some big puddles especially if your dog loves water like ours.
