The Meads Community Woodland is a relatively new community woodland on the outskirts of Sittingbourne. The woodland has significant heritage value, with archaeological finds including an extensive Anglo-Saxon cemetery and a Neolithic wood henge.
In 2017, woodland volunteers constructed a replica henge, which is well worth a visit. The decorated posts are laid out in the same way as the original Neolithic henge, and feature carved designs.
Free parking is available on surrounding roads.

A great short midweek walk with a circular pathway and a wooden henge. It’s well worth a visit if you’re in the area — the wooden henge gives it a unique twist and makes a great spot for photos.
For refreshments, The Jenny Wren (owned by Marston’s) is dog friendly and located opposite the woodland entrance.
The only downside is that there’s no dedicated car park, so parking is on the housing estate opposite, with a crossing required over the fairly busy Staplehurst Road.
