Introduction
Victory Wood was planted back in 2005 with the aim to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and covers around 140 hectares. The woodland has some great views across Kent and is surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
A surfaced pathway leads from the car park to the victory footprint but all other footpaths are grass or woodland track which can become muddy and slippery in wet weather.

Walk Details
Victory Wood hosts numerous foot paths and tracks for you to explore but for our first visit we decided to head up towards the Sculpture and admire the view.
- We started our walk by heading out the carpark and past the sculpture following the sign posts to the Victory foot print.
- At the footprint turn right and head down the long grass pathway towards the canon ball and then pass through the kissing gate.
- Head across the next meadow to another kissing gate and carry on until you reach a footpath on your right.
- Take this path and head up towards the sculpture at the top and admire the view.
- From the Sculpture carry on down the footpath going strih=ght over at the footpath cross roads.
- When you reach the T junction turn left and continue to the next junction and turn right.
- Follow this path round to the right and follow all the way back to the car park.

Walk Information
- Moderate - A walk with some hilly sections and some uneven pathways
- Circular walk is around 4.0km (2.5 Miles)
- Approx. an hour dependant on pace.
- The walk takes you across wide grassland paths and through woodland tracks. Some steep ascent and decents exist on unmade footpaths so can be very muddy during the winter and wet weather.
- There are no hard surfaced pathways available at this location.
- No Stiles but some kissing gates.
- Dogs allowed off lead.
- Dog bins available
- Free parking in the onsite Woodland Trust car park.

22 August 2025 at 17:59Had a lovely walk in Victory Woods today with our daschund who thoroughly enjoyed himself. The views from the viewing platform are amazing and worth the uphill walk to get to, definitely felt that on my legs lol. Car park wasn’t busy, easy to park and it is free which is always a bonus. We passed a couple of people with their dogs, all very friendly. Really lovely and peaceful walk in nature, definitely worth a visit. Will definitely go back.
