Jeskyns Community Woodland

Brief Description: Jeskyns Community Woodland covers grassland, orchards, meadows and woodland with hard trails, grass paths, dog activity area and enclosed dog training field.

Terrain:  Fairly flat with no major inclines. Wide solid pathways around the whole park with footpaths and bridal paths if your feeling adventurous.

Stiles:  None within Jeskyns park.

Dogs on leads? :  Dogs allowed off lead in designated areas.  Please see noticed and signs on arrival.

Area Information

Jeskyns community woodland was opened in 2007 and covers 360 acres of grassland, orchards, meadows and woodland which is owned and maintained by the forestry commission.  With wide accessible hard trails, grass paths and bridal paths there is a walk for everyone.  There are signposted trails, a dog activity area, an enclosed dog training area, childrens play areas, picnic benches and dog bins located all round the country park.

Dog Walk

With 7 different signposted trails and five different zones, Jeskynes is great place to walk your dog no matter what time of the year or your level of fitness or ability.  The dog activity area provides various agility tasks for your dog to try and master and the fenced training field is a great idea for all of those dogs in need of a bit of training in a secure enviroment.

The park is linked by pathways known as ‘The Darnley Trail’ to the nearby Shorne Country Park, Cobham Park, Ranscombe Farm Reserve and Ashenbank wood so your walk can really be as long or as short as you like.  Take a look at the maps by clicking on the link above.
