Introduction

Located to the east of Herne Bay,  Reculver is the home to the important Reculver Towers.  The Saxon Shore Trail leads its way west along the top of the large grassy cliff tops where you can walk along to Herne Bay and heading east past the towers takes you onto a long sea wall bordering the shingle beach and will eventually take you to Minnis Bay.

 Beach Dog Restrictions?:  No Restrictions all year round.

General Information

Terrain: Large grassed cliff top walk with unsurfaced pathways.  Past the towers there is a long sea wall bordering the shingle beach.  This is popular with cyclist so make sure dogs are kept under control whilst on the sea wall.

Accessible:  The sea wall from Reculver towards Minnis Bay is a hard surfaced concrete pathway.  The walk along the cliff top towards Herne Bay though is grass pathways and so unsuitable for wheel chair access.

Beach Restrictions?:  None – Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round.

Dog Bins:  Yes

Parking:  Two paid carparks are available off Reculver Lane near the towers.
