Introduction
Cromers Wood is a relatively small area of semi natural woodland covering around 28 hectares and is tucked away up an unmade lane off Broadoak Road. The woodland was donated to The Kent Wildlife Trust by Shell Research Limited back in January 1996 and has been transformed into a visitor friendly woodland with marked trails for walking, cycling and horse riding. The main carpark is closed but there is parking available for 4 car outside the main gate.
The woodland is not particularly fenced so not dog proof if you have a dog that may run off but you are away from busy roads.
There are a few footpaths and routes that can be taken and will lead you round the perimeter of the woodland taking around 30 minutes.

General Information

Distance: Circular walk is around 2.5km (1.5 Miles)
Time: Approx. half an hour dependant on pace and route.
Terrain: The walk takes you on a circular route around the edge of the woodland. Some steep ascent and decents exist on unmade footpaths but nothing too extreme but can become very muddy during the winter and wet weather.
Accessible: Unfortunately this walk is not very accessible for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Stiles: None.
Dogs on leads?: Dogs allowed off lead but woodland is not fenced.
Dog Bins: No
Parking: Free parking for 4 cars outside the main entrance at the end of the lane off Broadoak Road.

The Walk Details ...
This walk is away from main roads but a lane does run along one side of the woodland and is not fenced.
- For this circular walk we parked up in the small car park outside the main entrance and headed in.
- We then turned right at the at the first junction and went down a gentle slope towards the bottom of the woodland.
- At the bottom head left and follow the path that is adjacent to the country lane.
- We followed this path to the end where there is an upward climb made easier by some steps cut into the ground.
- At the top of the hill you will find various paths heading off with a wide main path to your left which will take you back to the entrance. Any of the other paths are good to follow and will bring you back out to where you currently stand. When you have finished exploring head back to the entrance along the wide main pathway.
