Introduction

Located on the North Kent coast in Herne Bay, Beacon Hill has views of the Reculver towers in the East and the Isle of Sheppy to the West.

The park is set on a steep incline that flattens out by Beacon Hill road and drops down to the wide surfaced pathway that follows the coast line and forms part of the Saxon Shore Trail.  Steps are available at various point to help with the decent and access to the shingle beach. 

Beach Restrictions?: Dogs are allowed on this section of the beach but if you walk into Herne Bay please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach between 1 May and 30 September between Herne Bay Pier and Lane End where the mini roundabout is located.

General Information

Terrain: Shingle Beach with wide concrete promenade.  Steep grassed bank leads up to Beacon Hill where it flattens out.

Accessible:  Hard concrete pathways run along the top and along the sea front.  Some of the pathways that traverse the slope down to the sea front have steps or can be steep. 

Beach Restrictions?: Dogs are allowed on this section of the beach but if you walk into Herne Bay please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach between 1 May and 30 September between Herne Bay Pier and Lane End where the mini roundabout is located.

Parking: Parking is available in Beacon Hill road or in various pay and display carparks in Herne Bay centre and around the pier
