Riverside Country Park – Gillingham, Kent

Area Information:

Riverside Country Park is set on the edge of the river Medway estuary between Rainham and Gillingham covering about 100 hectares and forms part of the Saxon Shore Way footpath network .

The walks are there and back over solid wide pathways away from roads and is a popular place for dog walkers.  At low tide the mud flats are accessible and at some points along the walk so may be worth having your dog on the lead at these points to avoid getting a very muddy dog.

Medway council have produced a series of leaflets which are available from the visitors centre.  They can also be seen on the council website by clicking the links below.

My dear puppy Border Terrier was bitten by a snake , adder , on 28th Jan.2020
and died as a result 30th Jan . No warnings displayed , nothing to indicate the
presence of these wild creatures at this time … perhaps at the end of hibernation. .The council let the phone run for 20 mins. on a cycle , no humans !
so , in despair I would ask you please ….. let people know of the dangers at Riverside . I close , in misery .
